Forever our heroes. Forever our home.
It is with full hearts and deep sorrow that we share the passing of our beloved parents.
After 67 years of marriage, Jay and Pat passed peacefully at home, just four days apart—together to the very end. It is a sacred closing to a lifetime love story, one built on devotion, faith, family, and unwavering commitment.
They were high school sweethearts—Dad attending Olympus High and Mom attending Granite High. He would drive his baby blue convertible to her school each day so they could have lunch together, a simple beginning to a love that would last a lifetime.
Together, they built a life centered on love. Their relationship became the foundation for everything they created, and their example is one we will carry with us always.
Our dad was the rock of our family—the steady, constant presence we could always count on. A peacemaker, a quiet source of wisdom, and a man who loved without condition. He was humble, selfless, hardworking, and always prepared. He gave freely of his time and counsel and led with quiet strength.
Our mom was our very best friend. She was loving, kind, thoughtful, and beautiful inside and out. She had a gift for making people feel seen and special—never forgetting a birthday, always finding the perfect gift, and paying attention to the little things that mattered most.
More than anything, they loved each other—and they loved their family. That love was evident in everything they did.
Some of our most cherished memories are the traditions they created. Dad’s happy place was Island Park, where we gathered year after year—riding ATVs, fishing, horseback riding, and simply being together. Those trips became a cornerstone of our family. We also shared unforgettable memories in Moab and Bear Lake.
They loved to travel and created many special memories along the way, especially in Hawaii and San Diego.
We will forever treasure the girls’ trips with our mom over the past 35 years—to Las Vegas, San Diego, and St. George—filled with laughter, shopping, great meals, and unforgettable moments.
Our mom was an incredible cook whose meals brought everyone together. The holidays were her favorite time of year, and she made them feel special through traditions we will carry on, especially at Christmas time.
Together, they created a home that was warm, welcoming, and full of life. They had a love for style, a gift for hosting, and a way of making everyone feel like they belonged.
They shared a deep and abiding faith as members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Together, they served a mission in Laie, Hawaii, and devoted their lives to Christlike service.
We will miss so much—our dad’s bright blue eyes, steady presence, wisdom, and laugh; our mom’s sweet voice, daily phone calls, encouragement, and her gift for making everything feel special.
They were preceded in death by their beloved granddaughter, McKall Emery; Jay’s brother, Larren England and his wife, Marilyn; and his parents, Mel and Dorla England. Pat was also preceded in death by her sister, Jan Boucher (Frank) and Carol Fletcher, and her parents, Jack and Bertha Fletcher.
They are survived by their children Mike England; Cindi Townsend (Steve); Angie Peterson (Eric); Amy Emery (Don); and Melinda Snow (Sean); along with 16 grandchildren and 29 great-grandchildren, who will carry on their legacy of love.
Patricia is also survived by her sister Jackie Jones (John).
Jay is also survived by his brothers Ron (Shirley), Lee (Cheryl, deceased), Lan (Carrie), and Val.
We are heartbroken, but there is peace in knowing they are together again.
Forever our heroes. Forever our home.
We love you. Always.

My deepest condolences to the family and friends of Jay and Patricia. May you find comfort in the love they shared and the memories that will always remain. <3
I would like to share memories of Jay England, Jack Fletcher and others. From about 1965 through the early seventies, Jack Fletcher would come to Salina, Utah, with his sons-in-law and hunt pheasants in the area. They enjoyed the hunt and Jack Leaming, my father would secure permits to hunt specific areas. I was about 10 when I remember this happening and must have been a pest, but they tolerated that well. Finer examples of gentlemen I cannot imagine. Jack, Jay, Dick and eventually Bryan were happy to hunt and visit after the hunt. It wasn't so much about the harvest, but the association for them. It was an event looked forward to during those years by my father, for them to come. Jay was so kind and left an impression on me of what a young boy ought to emulate. I will always have fond memories of Jay, Jack, my dad and those days. Please accept my condolences for your temporary partings, but know your posterity is made of the finest people.
