Listen to Obituary

Born January 3, 1967 in Salt Lake City, Utah, Age 58

As our dear Brother Rick has recently passed from Earth Life, we are certain that he was welcomed back to Heaven by our earthly parents, Blaine and Barbara Harmon, who preceded him in death.

Rick spent his childhood years in Butler, Utah, usually following his older siblings around the neighborhood to play with friends.

His family then moved to a neighborhood near Hogle Zoo, where Rick began school. He spent some time at The Children’s Center at the University of Utah, and when he was older he spent a lot of time building a special toy box, and delivering it to the Children’s Center, as part of his Eagle Scout project.

During his growing up years, Rick loved our Mother’s homemade cooking, Christmastime, and family parties with his cousins, along with Pizza and Crown Burger meals. He also spent a lot of time enjoying boating with his family at Lake Powell, Echo Reservoir, and Pineview Reservoir.

He graduated from Highland High School where he loved playing basketball. He suffered a devastating knee injury that broke his heart - changing his future plans.

For many years Rick worked in his Father’s Midas Muffler business, making friendships while working with many of the employees.

Rick loved to spend his money on Star Wars, becoming a collector of Star Wars memorabilia. His collection included every Star Wars figurine, and related Games, Legos, and much, much more. Rick had a huge heart and he often shared and gifted some of his pretty amazing items from his collection to his 18 nieces and nephews, his siblings, and to many neighbors and friends. Rick passed away after long suffering from advanced diabetic complications.

He is survived by his siblings, Niel Harmon (Marsha), Teri Wariner (Andy), Debbie Katter, Stacy Ogden (Ron), and Nancy Harmon, his 9 nieces, 9 nephews, 32 great nieces and nephews.

May the Force of Good Be with You always.

In loving memory, A Celebration of Life will be held Friday, April 11, 2025, at Larkin Sunset Gardens, 1950 East Dimple Dell Road, Sandy, Utah from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m.
