Richard Scott Tyner passed away on April 6, 2024 in Salt Lake City, Utah. He was born on March 15, 1948 to Lynn Kimble Tyner and Marilyn Page.
Dad was quick witted, helpful, kind, affectionate, and a giving man. He was a Navy veteran who enjoyed riding motorcycles and feeling the breeze on his face. He cherished his time spent in the mountains and on the hunt. He enjoyed telling stories, going scuba diving, playing golf, and hanging out with his loved ones and loyal canine companion, Leroy. Overall, he was a wonderful son, brother, father, grandfather, and friend. He will be deeply missed by all who know him.
I'm Free
Don't grieve for me, for now I am free.
I'm following the path God has laid you see.
I took His hand when I heard His call.
I turned my back and left it all.
I could not stay another day.
To laugh, to love, to work or play.
Tasks left undone must stay that way.
I found the peace at the close of day.
If my parting has left a void,
Then fill it with remembered joy.
A friendship shared, a laugh, a kiss,
Oh yes, these things I too will miss.
Be not burdened with time of sorrow.
I wish you the sunshine of tomorrow.
My life's been full, I savored much.
Good friends, good times, a loved one's touch.
Perhaps my time seemed all too brief.
Don't lengthen it now with undue grief.
Lift up your hearts and peace to thee.
God wanted me now; He set me free!
Guestbook/Condolences
I want to share our condolences on the loss of a great guy. We enjoyed so many afternoons playing pool at Stockman's Bar in Layton. I'm sure Rich will be missed dearly. I remember a time we happened to be high in the mountains and came across Rich and his friends. The furnace wouldn't start so we helped clean out the cobwebs and a hornets nest to get it started for him. We didn't know he'd be hunting in the same area, so quite a coincidence that we happened to come across him. RIP🙏
Rick, I cannot believe I’m reading this and that you’re no longer with us. You were such an amazing person and you were like family to me!
I will forever cherish our late night talks over a drink, golf games where you constantly helped me improve, and last but not least, our poker parties! You always gave me a hard time because I was the young buck playing with the “old folks”; but truly, that wasn’t the case.. I was playing with my dearest of friends and family! You always made it so much fun!
I will forever cherish everything you taught me and the great times we had together. Until we meet again my friend. Rest in peace Rick.
Love,
Nicholas Dellamore
