Robert Dee Brown was born on December 27th, 1952 in Salt Lake City, UT to Claudia White Brown and Gerald Dee Brown. He was the oldest of 5 children... A great big brother to Stephen, Sandy, Sue, and Jenny, who was only 7 months older than Rob's oldest daughter.

As a child, Rob was energetic and happy. He loved spending time with his grandparents Stephen and Arvilla White, especially their trips to Yellowstone National Park. He also loved to visit his grandparents Melvin and Elizabeth Brown in Idaho and watch movies in their theater.

At the age of 19, Rob met the love of his life, Connie Jensen, while dragging State Street. They were married on September 8, 1973 in Salt Lake City, UT. They had 9 children: Cari, Laura, Tami, Tara, Stephen, Candice, Ben, Jana, and Rachel, and lived in Wyoming, Utah and Nevada.

Rob is a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. One of his favorite callings was teaching the young men in his ward in Henderson, Nevada. January 18th, 1997 was a meaningful day for Rob as he was sealed to his wife and 9 children in the Las Vegas Temple. It was an incredibly spiritual experience for everyone in attendance and his family feels more peace at his passing because of this sealing ordinance.

Rob was always up for a fun adventure. He loved rollercoasters and took his family to several amusement parks. He loved to swim and our weekend trips to Lake Mead and Cottonwood Cove were a highlight of our time in Henderson. He would swim to the buoys and back and pull some of us around on our floaties. He also loved the outdoors. His favorite place was Milt Acres, the family cabin that he helped to build many years ago.

One of Rob's greatest attributes was his sense of humor. He could always be counted on to make a goofy face for a picture or crack a joke. His laugh was booming and contagious. You could hear it across the house when he was watching a funny movie or TV show.

Rob was always a hard worker and provided for his wife and children his whole life. His occupations included driving semi-trucks, cement trucks, and other construction vehicles.

Rob loved the twenty-five years that his family spent in Henderson, NV and made many friends there. After he moved to Eagle Mountain, UT in 2015, he missed the sunshine, but enjoyed being close to more of his family and grandkids.

Rob had a lifelong love of motorcycles and classic cars. He loved taking long motorcycle rides around Lake Mead and through beautiful desert landscapes around Henderson and Boulder City with his Dad and Ann, and his wife Connie. When he was dating Connie, he drove a navy blue 1969 Chevelle that rocked and rumbled at the stop lights because of the large engine.  It was his favorite car and he'd always wished he'd kept it. In his later years, he would go to a lot of car shows, watch car auctions on TV, and play the XBox game Forza, where he would collect cars, customize the car designs, and race.

Music was another lifelong love that Rob had. He  loved the Beatles, Beach Boys, ZZ Top, Joe Walsh, Pink Floyd, AC/DC, Supertramp, the Eagles, Johnny Cash, Fleetwood Mac, Def Leppard, the Mamas and the Papas, Styx, and Coldplay, among others. His kids would borrow his CDs because he was interested in the same bands that they were throughout the years. His kids really love his favorite old bands too, because of his influence.

Watching sports also brought Rob a lot of joy. He watched NASCAR, basketball (always cheering for the Utah Jazz!), and football- both college-level and the NFL. He loved Tom Brady and cheered for whatever team he played for, taking a lot of good-natured criticism from his kids for supporting the Patriots for all of those years, but hey…you can't argue with the championship rings! He took the jabs with grace and continued cheering on the GOAT. He was excited to see how the Raiders would do in his favorite city, Las Vegas.

Rob loved a good burger and despite his family's protestations, he always believed that the Whopper was King (pun intended). Some other favorites were pickles, good Chinese food, Coke Zero, black licorice, and the White Family Sherbet. He also made award-winning chili! These items will always remind us of him.

Rob's family was what he treasured most in this world. During our large family gatherings, he would smile and look across the crowd in wonder at the beautiful family that he and Connie created. The two of them often cried together when they talked about their blessings. There was a special smile and twinkle in his eye that he got when talking about his kids and grandkids, or when approached for a hug from one of us. He loved and cherished his beautiful wife Connie, a love that will continue into the eternities.

Rob was the very best grandpa. He would cuddle the babies, give snacks to the toddlers, attend important events and fun outings with them, and they always loved seeking him out for a hug. Each of his grandkids, ranging from babies to grown adults, love him and will miss him dearly.

Robert Dee Brown passed away on March 1st, 2024 in his home in Eagle Mountain, UT at the age of 71. He was preceded in death by his brother Stephen Brown, daughter Tami Brown, mother Claudia White Brown, niece Annjanette Keysaw, brother-in-laws Glen Keysaw, Jerry Jensen, and Kelly Jensen, and many beloved grandparents and relatives. He is survived by his wife Connie Brown, Father Gerald Dee Brown, Stepmother Ann Brown, sisters Sandy (Jim) Hicks, Sue Chapman, and Jenny (Christian) McVey, sister-in-laws Janette Keysaw and Janet (Jeff) Beck, brother-in-law Carl (Terri) Jensen, children Cari (Roger) Jones, Laura (Kenny) Burt, Tara (Jay) Turpin, Stephen (Jessica) Brown, Candice (Randall) Stewart, Ben (Taryn) Brown, Jana (Mike) Illguth, Rachel (Cecil) Morris, 36 grandchildren, 6 great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.

Rob's children would like to thank their mom Connie for taking such good care of him as his health began to fail in recent years. Her devotion and service to him allowed him to get to his appointments, to family functions and trips, and generally to have a higher quality of life towards the end than he would have had without her care. Her example has shown us what true, lasting love looks like.

Breaks my heart to hear of Rob’s passing.
He was not only a great friend in my teens and afterward but my best man at my wedding. Him, Steve, Gary, Brian, and I were close friends and called ourselves the Bill’s. (Long story).
I will cherish the short time we spent together.
He was a great man in so many ways.
Miss ya “Bill”
