On Saturday June 26, 2021 Samuel David Jackson returned home to his loving Father in Heaven. Sam was born on June 30, 2005 in Salt Lake City, Utah to Matthew David Jackson and Teresa Little Jackson. Our sweet son, brother, grandson, nephew, cousin and friend cared deeply about how people felt and always wanted to make people feel better. He had a unique perspective and way of thinking that enabled him to see the world through a special lens. One of Sam’s many talents was that he could talk to anyone, he could initiate a sincere conversation with a lonely cousin, his great grandmother or a stranger on a horseback ride. He was very passionate about the outdoors. Some of his favorite activities were fishing, hunting, campfires, and horseback riding, top on the list was duck hunting. Being the mountain man he was, Sam was always prepared for an adventure. We could always count on Sam to have the equipment ready for any activity that he was a part of. Sam was all in with his passions and adventures. His sweet happy smile and the twinkle in his eye when he was excited about an idea is one of our favorite things about Sam. He was also quite the problem solver, and had an amazing memory. The way he cared for his animals showed his deep love and feeling. Sam loved his dogs Caper and Bella, his bunny Licorice and his horses. Sam was a smart boy who loved to work and create. He enjoyed the classes at school where he had the opportunity to put his unique and gifted mind to work. He loved going on vacations to the cabin and Lake Powell with his extended family. We will miss so many things about Sam, his sense of humor, his special blend of seasoning for goldfish crackers and his fierce love for those around him. While we mourn our loss, we are filled with peace, hope and joy to know that Sam is happy and that we will see him again. Sam is survived by his parents, Matthew David Jackson, Teresa Little Jackson and his siblings, Alexander James Jackson and Sarah Margaret Jackson, his Grandparents Gretchen Jackson and Byron John Little and April Miller Little as well as many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. We have faith in our Savior, Jesus Christ, that through Him we will all be together again, and we anxiously await the day when we will be reunited. There will be a visitation Friday, July 2, 2021 from 6-8 p.m. at Larkin Sunset Lawn located at 2350 East 1300 South, Salt Lake City, Utah 84108. On Saturday July 3, 2021, there will be a visitation from 9:45 a.m.-10:30 a.m. at the LDS Foothill Stake Center at 1933 South 2100 East Salt Lake City, Utah 84108, followed by funeral services at 11:00 a.m. Interment at Wasatch Lawn Memorial Park.
