Sandra Jean Brown was born on September 28, 1944, in Salt Lake City, Utah, to James Lewis Brown and Janna Samot. She had two daughters, Debra Lee Christensen and Janna Beth Empey, from her first marriage and two stepsons David Brown and Phillip Brown from her second marriage. On June 14, 1974, she married John Joseph Brown, who adopted her daughters and was a loving father and supportive husband until his passing.
A dedicated member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Sandra served in various roles, including teacher, compassionate service, Relief Society president, Stake Relief Society president, and homemaking leader. She also hosted a monthly family home evening for friends.
Sandra was involved in the National Credit Association and Utah Girl Scouts, serving on the Utah Girl Scouts Heritage Committee until her health declined. Although she said she was trouble, she was known for making friends easily. Sandra could effortlessly learn about others and used that knowledge to strengthen relationships with those around her.
She was cared for by a devoted family and loving neighbors. A special thank you to Anne Lise Caldwell her husband and their children, for their help which allowed her to live comfortably at home. Sandra shared a close bond with her sister, Barbara Schmidt, traveling and serving in the Girl Scouts together.
Sandra is preceded in death by her parents, husband John Brown, and great-grandson Niklaus Jack Christensen. She is survived by her sister Barbara Schmidt, daughters Debra (Kirk) Christensen and Janna (Dale) Empey, Stepsons David Brown and Phillip (Peggy) Brown, 14 grandchildren, 29 great-grandchildren, and two great-great grandchildren
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, June 29th, at 11:00 am at Larkin Mortuary-Riverton, located at 3688 W. 12600 S. Riverton, UT with a viewing prior from 9:30-10:45 am. The graveside will follow at Redwood Memorial Estates.

Guestbook/Condolences
We love you, Sandra. Even when you called my husband your boyfriend. You little flirt. I will miss your spunk and sassy humor. You were truly one of a kind and I hope to be like you one day.
I am so sorry to hear this sad news. Sending prayers and condolences to the family and loved ones. Sandra was a great sister and truly example of Christ. She called me to be a RS teacher during her calling as RS president At Decker Lake Ward. Thank you Sister Brown for your service and example. Rest In Peace until we meet again 🙏🙏🙏❤️
Sandra will be missed by her friends at the National Association of Credit Management and the Intermountain Credit Education League. She was a staple in our association for many years. What a great mentor she was to generations of credit managers. Her legacy will be a long lasting one. She will be missed.
You were totally right when you said, Once you meet me, You'll never forget me💞
I miss you and our water fights we would have.
I miss our daily charts and butterflies we shared.
When I see a pretty butterfly 🦋 I'll be thinking of you and know you're thinking of me.
I know you're happy and made a Grand Entrance once you got home.
Condolences to family and friends .
I am very sorry for Sandra's loss. It's been a long time since I have been in touch, living so far away. I dearly loved her as one of a few cousins on my father's side. I am sending condolences and prayers to the family and will be thinking of Sandra's loved ones at this time. May God bless her loved one with strength and peace as you mourn.
Prayers to family and friends on your loss. RIP Sandra!
A friend always. Good memories
