With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Silvia Medina-Reyes, a beloved mother, daughter, sister, and friend, who left us on August 21, 2024, in West Valley City, UT, after a courageous battle with pancreatic cancer. Born on April 30, 1967, in Michoacan, Mexico, Silvia was the cherished daughter of Ramiro Medina and Margarita Reyes.
Silvia's journey through life was one of love, resilience, and unwavering dedication to her family. She was known for her unconditional kindness, generosity, and welcoming spirit. Her warm smile and vibrant spirit touched the lives of everyone she met.
Silvia's greatest loves were her two daughters, Lizete and Melanie, who were the center of her world. She devoted herself wholeheartedly to their upbringing, instilling in them strength, a great sense of humor, and a hint of stubbornness. Her love for her daughters knew no bounds, and she worked tirelessly to ensure they had a bright and promising future.
In addition to her daughters and parents, Silvia is survived by her seven siblings: Virginia, Gildardo, Maricela, Ramiro, Rosario, Enrique, and Sergio, as well as dozens of cousins, nieces and nephews, and close friends.
Silvia's life was a testament to perseverance and unwavering faith. She faced every challenge with poise and determination, never losing her sense of humor and optimism. Her legacy will live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved her.
A dedicated mass will be held at Sacred Heart Cathedral in her honor on August 31, 2024, at 11:00 AM followed by a graveside service at 1:00 PM at Larkin Sunset Gardens. Family and friends are invited to join in honoring the extraordinary woman who brought so much light into their lives. Donations and flowers are graciously welcomed.
Though Silvia is no longer with us, her spirit will continue to guide and inspire us. May she rest in eternal peace, surrounded by the love she so generously gave to all who had the privilege of knowing her.
In our hearts forever, Silvia Medina-Reyes.
