Susan Anderson Isaac passed away December 6, 2024. Susan was born in 1958 to Thomas Malcom and Joyce Christiansen Anderson. Susan grew up in the Sugar House area of Salt Lake City and attended Olympus High School. Susan married Jim Isaac in the Salt Lake Temple in August 1978. Susan was preceded in death by her parents. She is survived by her husband James, her siblings Paul (Dana) Anderson, Tom (Vicki) Anderson and Lisa (Steve) Bills; her children Jen (Jason) Hatton, Nicki Isaac, Bryan (Natalie) Isaac and Danny (Melanie) Isaac and her 14 grandchildren, 3 grand-in-laws and 3 great grandchildren.
Sue was a huge sports fan and she loved watching her boys play ball while they were growing up. More recently, she loved watching her grandkids play. She was an indiscriminate fan, rooting for BYU, Utah, and USU. She had a green thumb, loved gardening and always had one of the best-looking yards in the neighborhood. She had a great love of country, listening to talk radio and watching Hallmark movies or a ballgame while she would crochet. She is known for handing a bag of crocheted washcloths off to anyone who came to visit. It was rare to see her without a diet coke.
Along with her husband, Susan loved to be of service to their friends and neighbors. She kept a close eye on those near to her and would send Jim off to help where she saw a need. Susan’s faith was paramount to her. She served in many roles at church throughout her life and through that service developed many very meaningful friendships that she cherished.
Most of all she loved her family and was a devoted wife, mom and grandmother. She was lucky to be married to her best friend, Jim, for 46 years. Together, they enjoyed attending plays, weekly dinners with friends, watching sports games on tv and especially spending time with their family. Her children and grandchildren were her greatest pride and joy. She was everyone’s #1 cheerleader and loved supporting them in all they did. Her evenings and weekends were often filled with sports games, recitals, or performances. Nothing made her happier than being surrounded by her family and she always made her home everyone’s favorite place to visit. Some favorite traditions we have thanks to Grandma are Memorial Day picnics, decorating sugar cookies on Christmas Eve, scone breakfast on Christmas morning and getting together every month with the family for birthdays. We will always feel a big hole in our hearts and will miss having her here with us, but we will proudly continue those traditions that she held so dear and know that we will feel her near. We all know that we have just gained the most loving and attentive guardian angel.
There will be a viewing on Wednesday, December 11, 2024, from 6:00 to 8:00 pm at Larkin Sunset Gardens located at 1950 E 10600 South in Sandy. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am at the Ashley Park LDS Chapel located at 10312 S Ashley Park Dr. in Sandy. A viewing will be held from 10:00 to 10:45 before the funeral.
