Terry Michael Shuman, loving husband, father, grandpa and great grandpa passed away peacefully Friday June 18, 2021, in Santaquin, Utah, at the age of 77. Some say you can't die from a broken heart. After losing the love of his life 6 weeks ago, we think he did die of a broken heart. We all know they would want to be together for their 59th Wedding Anniversary on June 29th.

Terry was born September 22, 1943 to Charles Manassah Shuman and Marie Shuman. He graduated from South High School. Terry married Joan Edginton on June 29, 1963. They were later sealed in the Salt Lake City Temple for time and all eternity. Terry and Joan raised four children, Scott, Steve, Terilyn and Tiffany in Sandy and in 2019 they moved to Santaquin.

Terry spent many years working for Kennecott in the refinery and for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints as a custodian. Terry held many church callings and was honored when he was able to bless, baptize and confirm many of his children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. He always gave them the best blessings!

Terry was very meticulous and was passionate about a lot of things. He especially liked his desk organized and lines in the carpet from vacuuming. He loved planes and old cars. He had a love for Disneyland and would have lived there if he could have. He loved all things Disney, but Star Wars truly had his heart. He wanted to go there one last time to go on the Star Wars ride. Terry also loved Lake Powell and took many vacations with his family there. He loved pulling the grandchildren behind the boat on the "water weenie" and making them do "Fire Drills" but wouldn’t let them back in the boat until they were dry, ha ha go figure! He wanted everything kept very nice. After selling the boat, his love went to his four-wheeler. He loved taking it camping and letting the grandchildren ride it, "But not too fast!" He and Joan shared a love for Yellowstone. Terry especially loved the Old Faithful Lodge. Terry also loved his dogs Wesley (named after John Wesley Powell) Ruby and Molly, who he leaves behind.

He is survived by his four children, Scott (Veronica) Shuman, Manhattan, MT, Steve (Linda) Shuman, Sandy, UT, Terilyn Anderson Riverton, UT, Tiffany (Jesse) Whitney, Santaquin, UT, brother-in-law Jim Edginton, Ferron, UT. He also leaves behind 12 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren. Terry is preceded in death by his wife Joan Shuman, father Charles Shuman, mother Marie Shuman, mother and father-in-law Douglas and Ruth Edginton and son-in-law David Anderson.

Graveside services will be held at 10:00 am on Thursday, June 24, 2021 at Larkin Sunset Gardens, 1950 East Dimple Dell Road, Sandy, UT. A viewing will be held Wednesday evening from 6:00 - 8:00 pm. Please share a favorite memory of Terry with his family at larkincares.com.
