Theresa (Terie) Helen Keenan Allen, storyteller, champion for the underdog, and best friend to everyone has left us unexpectedly. We thought she would live forever with her persistent strength and claim of “coming from good stock”. She was one of a kind with her unique sense of humor, laughter, and confidence. She took cues from no one when it came to fashion, makeup and hairstyle. All she needed was a smile on her face and a comb run through her hair to be beautiful. She passed knowing that Gone with the Wind, The Wizard of Oz, and The Ten Commandments were the best movies ever made. Her hobbies where “dashing” with her sister, grocery shopping, calling friends and family multiple times a day, and tapping her fingers while attempting to whistle to pass the time away.

She spent 30 years waitressing the counter of Bill & Nada’s Cafe entertaining customers and making lifelong friends. She considered the cafe her “laughing place” and treasured her time and memories there. People were her passion and she had a knack for finding hope in the hopeless and love in the unlovable. There were many a “lost soul” she took under her wing to befriend and entertain.

Both of “her men” preceded her in death. Dennis Allen, the love of her life to whom she was married for 35 years and her partner, Wayne Holt of 10 years. She leaves behind what she considered her greatest accomplishment, 3 daughters, Angela Love (Jeffrey), Shannon Allen (Brian Foutz) and Natosha her baby, as well as 9 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren.

We will not remember the battles but hold tight to the victories, the love, laughter, and memories she leaves behind.

A funeral service will be held on Friday, July 23rd at 2:00 PM. Friends may greet the family during the viewing from 12:00 to 1:45 PM all at Larkin Sunset Gardens, 1950 E. Dimple Dell Road (10600 S.), Sandy.

Please join us for a Celebration of Terie’s Life following the services at Millennial Falls located at 12375 South 1300 East, Draper, UT. Refreshments, music, mingling and memories will be served.

In lieu of flowers Terie would hope that you would do an unexpected act of kindness for some “lost soul” in her name.

Angela, Shannon, Natosha, and families, We were saddened to hear of the passing of your beautiful mother. I wish I had been able to have the opportunity to know her better. I met her only a couple of times, and she was always kind and sweet. I hope you will find comfort in your sweet memories and peace in the knowledge that she is well. Love, Doug and Carrie Bennion Guse
