He passed his time by enjoying driving “Affie”, the big green 1940 Chevrolet farm truck in the parades each year with his grandkids riding in the back, sitting on hay bales, and waving flags.

The outdoors was his world. Enjoying camping and fishing when his children were young, camping and hunting when they turned the age to carry a firearm, and camping and four-wheeling when they were all grown. His love for firearms will never be matched. He was in 7th heaven when he scuba dived with Mark. He took cruised with Wendy and many friends.

Dogs were a favorite of his, the Bulldog and Mack (truck) dogs were at the top of the list. He had many in his collection.

Our family had the honor of being the Reeders neighbors for years. No one could give you the shirt off his back like Tom. He was always helping! We love telling Tom stories because honestly, this guy was crazy fun! We love all the Reeder kids and Wendy- what a wonderful caregiver you’ve been all these years. You are an amazing woman and we pray for God’s sustaining influence and peace to be with you💕. Our life is richer because Tom and you all were a part of it!

    Hello Wendy and Reeder family.
Marilyn (Hatch) Gutierrez brought Tom's obituary to my attention after publication in the Des News. I didn't see it in the Tribune which is the paper I read. I'm so sorry for your loss. My most prominent remembrance of Tom was that he always had the smile on his face like that pictured in the photo with this form. He was always friendly and seemed to live life as an eternal optimist. Losing a loved one is so hard, but I hope you know that many friends and former school mates are praying for you all at this time.
    As ever, Linda
