Obituary Photo for Valerie Kay LeGore

Valerie Kay LeGore was welcomed into the waiting arms of Jesus early Tuesday morning February 11, 2025, when her earthly heart suddenly stopped beating. She gracefully did not suffer and is now in the joy of Paradise.

Valerie was born December 27, 1962 in Salt Lake City, Utah to the union of Roger and Arlie Benegar. The youngest of four children; Brett Benegar (Dawn), Joel Benegar (Sam), Gina Ellis (Jamie). At birth, her lungs had not fully developed and initially was not expected to survive.

However, God had other plans and she not only survived that early challenge but went on to live an amazing life, touching the lives of so many with her love of others and God!

She grew up in Bountiful and Fruit Heights, Utah. She experienced God's great grace by being raised in a Christian home and came to know Jesus at an early age. Members of Grace Baptist Church in Bountiful Utah, she was active in the youth group (even attending a handful of area youth events at the Evangelical Free Church of Salt Lake City in the 1970s).

She graduated from Davis High School in 1981. Upon graduation, she moved to The Dalles, Oregon to attend Judson Baptist College where, in addition to an education, she met James LeGore. James knew this was it before she did but eventually, she came around, and they were married August 7, 1982. They lived for a time in The Dalles, Portland, Oregon, and Thermopolis, Wyoming, before returning to Utah with two wonderful boys, Kaleb and Jason. They settled in Sandy, Utah in 1992, living in the house she lovingly made a home until her passing.

Valerie worked in the Real Estate Title Industry for nearly 30 years, building an office family first at United Title Services and then in her last position as an Auditor and Agency Manager for Old Republic Title, where she enjoyed a rewarding career.

Valerie and James were blessedly married for over 42 years at the time of her passing. They have enjoyed their involvement with The Evangelical Free Church for the last 15 years. She especially cherished working in the nursery where the little ones loved Grandma Valerie. She enjoyed serving the Church in the background and did so faithfully, all the while supporting James in his various ministry opportunities.

Valerie was preceded in death by her grandparents, and her father Roger Benegar.

She is survived by Husband James, sons Kaleb (Robyn), Jason (Aliesha), Grandson Jason Rick, Mother Arlie, Siblings Brett (Dawn), Joel (Sam), Gina (Jamie), as well many aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews, each of whom she loved as if they were her own children. She would want you all to remember you need your 20 hugs a day!

A memorial service was held on February 15, 2025, at the Evangelical Free Church of Salt Lake City. Family from five states came, as well as past and present co-workers and many of her Church family. We celebrated the hope of the Gospel of Jesus Christ and, with joy through tears, we said goodbye for a minute until in Christ we can be united with our beloved Valerie.

"Death is swallowed up in Victory.

0 death, where is your victory?

0 death where is your sting?

Tue sting of death is sin, and the power of sin is the law.

But thanks be to God, who gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ."

I Corinthians 15:54a-57

Valerie left us far too soon, but know she is now in the fullness of joy in the presence of Jesus.

Hey Jim, praying for you as you navigate through life now without Valerie. So glad you reached out and called to let me know. So glad we have a Heavenly father who knows and sees our hurts and sorrows and is there to bring comfort. Take care. Hope to see you possibly in April.
