Wallace Eldon Lundberg, known as Eldon, was born to Wallace Colburn Lundberg and Agnes Faith Griffiths on October 11, 1925, in Salt Lake City, Utah. Eldon had one sister, Norma Fae Lundberg. He was raised in Salt Lake City and graduated from East High School. He served in the Navy during World War II and was stationed at Pearl Harbor in Oahu, Hawaii. Upon his return, Eldon put in his papers to serve an LDS mission. He was sent to the Western Canadian Mission. After he returned from his mission, Eldon met his sweetheart, LaWona Mae Black. They married on November 20, 1959, at the Salt Lake City LDS Temple for time and eternity. Eldon attended college while working as a draftsman for Standard Oil. He graduated from the University of Utah with a Bachelor’s of Science. He also completed a Master of Arts in Elementary Curriculum and Instruction from Brigham Young University. Eldon and LaWona made their home in Sandy, Utah, where they raised their three children David, Leslie, and Shauna. Eldon worked as an elementary teacher and taught 4, 5 and 6th grade at Butler, Edgemont, and Peruvian Park Elementary Schools. After retirement, Eldon worked as a volunteer at the Alta View Hospital in the Emergency Room. Eldon and LaWona served two LDS Missions - the SLC Inner City Mission and the California Roseville Mission. Eldon was loved by his eight grandchildren, Kyle, Justin, Brett, Lindsy, Melissa, Curtis, Samir, and Vivika. He was extra loved as Grandpa Great with seven great grandchildren, Easton, Lela, Wyatt, Addie, Tanner, Colter and Jack. Eldon will be greatly missed. He had a spirit of generosity and loving kindness. He was witty and loved to bring a smile to everyone he met. He always had a joke or a funny story to brighten the day.
We want to thank the Symbii Hospice Care, specifically Nurse Lori and his CNA, Gurvinder. We want to thank Beehive Senior for their home service care. A special thank you to Sunrise of Sandy, Assisted Living Center for welcoming and befriending Eldon and for providing compassionate and loving care.
Eldon is survived by his sister Norma Fae Lundberg Woodward, his son David (Lynette), and his daughters Leslie (Keshav Sarin) and Shauna (Jason Merrill).
He was preceded in death by his eternal companion LaWona, his son-in-law David Moffitt, and his parents Wallace and Agnes Lundberg.

Guestbook/Condolences
I am so very sorry to hear about Eldon’s passing today. I would have loved to be in attendance for his services. Zoom meeting was so beautiful and a great tribute.
I worked with Eldon in the Alta View ER and with your Mom in the Radiology Department. It was always an honor to work with Both of them. Eldon always began the shift with a joke or funny story. He was always a great member of our team and was our privilege to work together.
With deepest sympathy,
Fran Akita Alta View Emergency RN retired.
