    Guestbook/Condolences

Bill and I had some great adventures together whether it was making leather goods, pulling weeds, painting the house or changing the headlamps in the car. He had a million stories to tell. A feel as though I grew up in Windslow myself!
    I love you guys!

I feel so lucky to have known Mr Randall. He was an incredible 5th Grade teacher. Not only was he the best instructor, he played his guitar for us and taught us to sing (The Lion Sleeps Tonight among other classics). He read us cool new books during read aloud (books like Jurassic Park-of course he skipped all the bad language). He left a lasting impression on me as a student and as a person. Thank you Randall Family for sharing your dad with all of us. Thinking of you in your time of loss. Sending love from across the United States to all of you.

    - Amy (Sullivan) McAllister

Mr. Randall was amazing teacher. He helped shape me into who I am today. I always loved going to school when we got to do projects in his class. I will never for get Mr. Randall. I'm so sorry for your loss. I will keep your family in my prayers.

    - Catherine Lantis

I had Mr. Randall in 5th grade. Friends in other classes were always so jealous of the cool leather projects that we got to do so often. I was never any good at them, but Mr. Randall always helped me and encouraged me. What a great teacher!!

I loved walking on the nature walk above Lone Peak Elementary. I wandered the path almost every day that I was in elementary school, and when I learned that it was created by Brother Randall that made it even better!

    - Karen Sullivan Munson

I was privileged to work with Bill and call him my friend! He was a wonderful person, a great colleague, a superb musician, and a heck of a lot of fun to be around! Bill and I worked side by side in fifth grade at Lone Peak Elementary for twelve years. I learned a lot from Bill during those years, but more importantly, our students learned much from him. He was a master teacher, but he taught much more than the prescribed curriculum. He taught children how to be good people, how to care for and respect each other, and how to have joy in everyday things.

His music was a vehicle to teach, and there were many Friday afternoons when we finished the day singing, and the students were sent home with smiles on their faces and a warm feeling in their hearts. That was Bill's gift to them and all of us lucky enough to be part of his teaching. Everyone liked Bill Randall. His legacy will live on and on!

Bill and I met about 20 years ago through scouting and started up a string band which we kept going for at least 15 years. He was an excellent musician accompanied by many other artistic talents which he always used to bless the lives of others. Despite his physical trials, he always stayed positive and as actively engaged with life as was humanely possible. He was a living example of righteous, faithful and humble endurance. He was a kind, generous and gentle man, always looking for the good in others. He taught me much and enriched my life. No one could hope for a greater legacy. Bill, I love you and know you are playing Country Roads right now, as you have truly been “taken home”.

I am glad to have known Bill. He taught fifth grade. I taught fourth. Bill was the real thing. A genuine human being. I thoroughly enjoyed his company, and chatting with him. He always had plenty of stories to share in that melodic voice of his. Bill was easy to be around, and a friendly, outgoing guy. He brought a lot of happiness into this world.with his many talents. The greatest of which was his big heart.
God bless him, and all of you in his family!

I send my thoughts and prayers to Bill's family as they face time ahead saying goodbye to this wonderful man. Bill and I were classmates and friends in Winslow, AZ, graduating from high school there in 1960. He was a kind and caring person, with a great sense of humor and a love of life. I can't remember a time he wasn't smiling. It was a joy to visit with him at our class reunions, finding him just as sweet and kind as always. He will be missed by those of us who knew him "back then" and who are saddened that he has left us.

Dear Randall Family: We remember Bill's genuine smile and happy laugh. He always made us feel better when we were around him. He could relate to everyone old or young. As young parents together, it was wonderful to hear our kids come home from school, scouts or some event and have them say, I learned this today from Brother Randall, or we had so much fun doing that with Brother Randall. We always knew they were safe and loved when they were with him.

We are so sorry he is gone from us for a season, but know he is happy with loved ones who proceeded him. Our love to all of you at this tender time.

I knew, worked with, laughed along with, and loved Bill. He taught at Sandy Elementary and everyone adored him. Such a fun, nice, happy-go-lucky, easy-going guy! That was when teaching was fun...hearing his guitar down the hall and laughing alongside his bff Paul Hunter. Sad to hear he’s passed...but what a joy this man brought into many people’s (and students’) lives. He will be missed!!

When I remember Bill, it will always be with a smile and a feeling of peace. He was truly a good man.
I rode with him in his truck in Yellowstone Park 8 or 9 years ago. It was a special time to talk to
him and learn of many places he had been and people he knew. He told me of his days when he sang in the Tabernacle Choir at Temple Square and shared some of those special times when they toured the world.. He was always gracious to both Shirley and myself by including us in family dinners and occasions.
I know he is in a better place now, experiencing peace and rest and reuniting with many who have gone before him. I'm glad I knew him

I had so much fun getting to know Bill and playing in a Blue Grass Band with him for over 10 years. He could sing anything and was awesome at the guitar, mandolin, and any thing else he decided to play. He was so kind and could make anyone laugh. He made me a leather guitar strap that I will cherish. I also taught at Sandy Elementary the year after he retired, and he was a legend there with the teachers and students. He is a wonderful person and will be greatly missed!

Connie and I wish to send our condolences and love to Shauna and her family. We are so sorry to hear that Bill has passed. I first became friends with Bill around 70 years ago in grade school. He was an amazing person. I always remember his warm laughter and caring attitude for all he met. Bill was one of the really finest people that I have had the pleasure to call a friend. He will be truly missed by all. God bless his family and know that he is in the arms of his Lord.

Jay D and I had many visits with Shauna and Bill over the years, each filled with incredible stories, jokes, laughter, games, testimonies and appreciation. I always felt so uplifted every time I was around Bill and Shauna because they were so welcoming and full of positive insights about life, even during the most challenging times. I visited the hospital many times when Bill was there recovering or beginning treatments. Although in pain or concern, he was always full of love, hope, good will and gratitude. I felt grateful to be with him, even when he or Shauna beat me in Farkle or cards. He and Shauna are my heroes because they truly endure to the very end building others up, bearing testimony to the power of faith in God and their gratitude for the plan of salvation including death. They spoke with enthusiasm about "the other side" where they both would be playing games, dancing, singing, running and doing crafts again. Bill's passion for life and learning was infectious. He was a true teacher to the end encouraging me and others to savor the treasures of life whether it be music, a passion we both shared, or the outdoors, geological formations, the desert, leather crafts, playing the guitar, fishing....he had a story and passion. There was rarely a lull in the conversation. He had a big heart and I will miss his energetic welcoming voice and hugs. We will miss him. Keep singing and telling your stories...Until we meet again.

Closest memories I have of Bill were my times I spent with him camping. He had so many stories to tell, some of them relating to mishaps he had, that he admitted should have killed him. Based on these accounts, I feel strongly that the Savior had a mission for Bill here on Earth to touch as many lives as he did. Last memory was when we were moving items back from the church. As soon as I backed into his driveway, the radio station I was listening to played the Eagles song about Winslow Arizona! We had fun moving items while singing that song. Rest In Peace my friend, you will be remembered by many.

What a great guy Bill was. I was saddened to find his obituary and too late to attend his services. I loved the years that we taught together at Lone Peak Elementary. I was new to the 5th-grade team and didn't have a lot of curriculum and his help was so appreciated.
One of my fondest memories was Bill playing his guitar after a hard day of teaching and we would all start to sing along with him. I don't ever remember him saying any negative word about anyone, he was so positive.
He was a great teacher and was loved by his students.
Since my retirement, I have thought of him often and reflected on the years we enjoyed working together.
I know his family will miss him and cherish his life with fond memories.
    God Bless,
    Linda
