1944 ~ 2025
William (Bill) Howard Christensen was born on 26 December 1944, in Salt Lake City, Utah. He died on 14 July 2025 in Magna, Utah at the age of 80. He is survived by his ex-wife, Joy Christensen, daughter Katie Hibbens (Brent), grandson, Jalen Williams, step-grandsons, Hudson, Emerson, and Grayson Hibbens, step-granddaughter, Kindie Bonner, step-great-grandson, Evrin Karns, and sister Rebecca Franklin (Michael) and many nieces, nephews, and cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents, Peter Edwin Sterling Christensen and Esther Elizabeth Evans, his brother, Michael Christensen, and his sisters, Rachel Burris (Wayne) and Sandra Van Sickle (Carl).
He graduated from South High School in Salt Lake City, Utah. He served an LDS mission in the England South Mission. He joined the Army Reserves in August of 1963 and completed a Field Communications Crewmen’s School at Fort Ord, California, and served a 6-month tour of duty at Fort Lewis, Washington. He served 27 years in the Army Reserves.
During his working career he was employed at Sunbeam Appliances, Wells Fargo Security, Blue Cross Blue Shield, and Kingsbury Hall at the University of Utah, which he loved, for 30 years. He was an avid sports fan. He loved to bowl and played on many leagues. He was Golf League President for several years and played softball with them. He was the Dance Committee President at the Terrace Ballroom in Salt Lake City. Funeral services will be held August 12, 12:00 PM, at the LDS church, 7525 W 3735 S, in Magna, Utah. Viewing at the church 11:00 AM. Services will also be on Zoom.
The family would like to express heartfelt gratitude to Legacy Village Taylorsville Rehabilitation, and all the workers at Aspire Hospice, Nurse Kim, and CNA, Kailie Palmer, and Matthew, physical therapist, for the excellent care they gave Bill.
Sorry I couldn’t be there. Just know I’m thinking about you guys. My uncle Bill was special to me and he’s gonna be missed
Joy…Sorry I can not be there today, but I am sending all my love and sympathy to you . I have not seen Bill for many years but, he was alway kind when we met and I will remember him for that. May your pleasant memories help you through this difficult time.
