It is with deep sorrow and much love that we announce the passing of Yanyi Li, who left this world peacefully on July 27, 2025, at the age of 72, surrounded by family.
Born in Taishan, Guangdong, on December 21, 1952, Yanyi lived a life full of grace, wisdom, and quiet strength. She was a loving mother, a devoted grandmother, and a cherished friend to many. Her warmth, generosity, and unwavering kindness touched all who had the privilege of knowing her.
Yanyi had a gentle presence and a resilient spirit. She dedicated her life to her family, always putting the needs of others before her own. Whether through her home-cooked meals, her thoughtful guidance in times of need, or simple acts of love, she created a legacy of care that will endure in the hearts of her children and grandchildren.
After immigrating to the United States, Yanyi spent over 20 years working hard to ensure her family had a better life. Her strength, perseverance, and quiet sacrifices laid the foundation for the opportunities her loved ones have today. She embodied courage and devotion, always striving to give more than she received.
Her stories, laughter, and gentle smile will be deeply missed but never forgotten. Though she may no longer walk beside us, her love will forever be a guiding light.
Yanyi is survived by her beloved husband Weihong Ma; her children Junliang Ma, Shufang Ma, and Fenfang Ma; her daughter- and son-in-laws LiWen Huang, Yongkang Wu, and Hongfang Liu; her sisters Xiaoqiu Li and Qiuyuan Li; her brother-in-laws Huanwen Wu and Yintuan Lee; her grandchildren Brayden Ma, Chantalla Ma, Aubrey Lin, Lamishia Lin, and ZheXin Liu; and her great-grandchildren Ariel Bouaseng, Marcel Sengdeng, and Zuri Bouaseng. All will continue to honor her memory by living their lives with the same compassion and strength that she showed every day.
A memorial service will be held on August 5, 2025, from 9-12am at Larkin Sunset Gardens, 1950 E Dimple Dell Road (10600 S), Sandy, UT. All who knew and loved Yanyi are welcome to attend and celebrate her remarkable life.
After the memorial service, the family is inviting all loved ones to join them at Red Maple, 2882 4700 S, Taylorsville, UT, for lunch. Please feel free to join after the services conclude.
