Our beloved mother, Sally Ann Christison Ballstaedt, passed away on June 1, 2023, at the age of 87. We are heartbroken to lose someone so special. She was a wonderful woman who will be deeply missed. Born November 2, 1935, in Salt Lake City. Married DuWayne Ballstaedt on August 19, 1954, in the Salt Lake Temple. She devoted her life to the service of others, especially her children, and served in numerous callings, always going above and beyond in all that she did. She enjoyed decorating her home with antiques that she refinished herself, sewing, knitting, making quilts for those she loved, watching Heartland, Matlock and Murder She Wrote. Sally was famous for her homemade bread, “Nut Sundae Cake,” and fudge. She loved black licorice and anything chocolate.

Sally is survived by her children: Laurie (Jim) Linschoten, Jan (William) Thomas, Carrie (Jeff) Scott, Tom Ballstaedt, Susy (Steve) Branch, 17 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren. Brother; Keith Christison and Sister; Susan Mills.
Preceded in death by her husband; DuWayne Ballstaedt, father; Dunston Christison, mother; Fern Christison and brothers; Donald, Ted, and Kenneth.

A funeral service will be held at Larkin Mortuary, 260 East South Temple, Salt Lake City at 2:00 p.m. on June 9, 2023.
A visitation will be held prior to the service at 12:00 noon.

I loved Sally just as I love my own Mother. We moved to Sandy my senior year of high school and I basically lived at the Ballstaedt home my whole senior year of high school. I was very grateful that Sally opened up her home to me like one of her kids. She was fun to do things with or just sit and visit. She’s been alone without her honey Dwayne for many years. What a glorious reunion it must have been. I love you Sally . I hope you’re at peace and out of pain.

Baldstadt Family—Dave and I were great full that Ginger had somewhere to stay in town when we moved to Sandy in the early 1980’s. Sally was always making something yummy. The first time I ever tasted Augratiin potatoes was at Sally’s and they were delicious. Thanks Sally for all you taught us. We love you and your family.

Ballstaedt Family, I have so many fond memories with Aunt Sally, both in her home and at Great Grandma Ferns. Both of them (Sally and Fern) taught me to crochet, which I still do to this day.
I'm honored to be part of her family.
