Kristopher Kyle Jones

1985 ~ 2016

Kristopher Kyle Jones unexpectedly passed away at his home and returned to the arms of our loving Heavenly Father on Monday, April 11, 2016. He left us far too soon as a beloved son, brother, uncle, grandson, nephew, cousin and best friend.

Kris was born on January 7, 1985 In Salt Lake City, Utah to Kyle Hogan Jones and Deon Jones. He graduated from Tooele High School in 2003 where he participated in the high school band. He was a talented trumpet player and loved walking with his band in parades. After high school, he attended Utah Valley University in Orem, Utah. Kris was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and served a mission in Pennsylvania. He was also a member of the Boy Scouts of America and earned the rank of Eagle Scout.

Throughout his life, Kris loved reading (especially Harry Potter) and playing video games. He was also an amazing artist, always drawing cute characters and comics. He was really funny, constantly cracking jokes. He was a joy to be around. As a child, he and his family went on many great vacations including Arches National Park and Las Vegas. We will never forget those fun times with him, climbing rocks and collecting stuffed animals. His favorite thing to do for the past several years was cooking. He claimed there wasn't a recipe he couldn't handle. His sandwiches, steaks and BBQ ribs were better than any restaurant. He loved spending time with his mom, going out to dinner, and sitting around with her dogs talking about life. He also enjoyed hiking in the back country of the Uinta Mountains and four-wheeling with his dad.

He is survived by his mother Deon Jones, his father Kyle Hogan (Kristi) Jones, sister Michelle (Eric) Mead, sister Melissa (Dave) Butler, brother Jeremy (Heather) Jones, step-sister Ashli Brown, and many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins. Kris is preceded in death by his maternal grandparents Phillip and Joy Jones.

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, April 19, 2016 at 2:00 pm at Larkin Sunset Gardens, 1950 E. Dimple Dell Rd. (10600 S.) in Sandy.
