Erik Wayne Maloy

2005 ~ 2018

Erik Wayne Maloy, son of Steven and Jennifer (Harbold) Maloy of Layton, Utah passed away suddenly on February 6, 2018. He was born September 2, 2005 in Salt Lake City Utah.

A member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, he served as a deacon in his ward. He had earned his Arrow of Light as a Cub Scout and was now enjoying his involvement in Boy Scouts. He attended the 6th grade at North Davis Preparatory Academy, and between church and school, he had a wide circle of friends. Erik spent the past few years advancing his skills in Tae Kwon Do and anticipated the achievement of his black belt within the next few months. He was good with his hands, creating useful things out of paracord, scrap wood, or even yarn. Quite the budding entrepreneur, he augmented his allowance by selling the paracord bracelets he made to neighbors, friends, and family. Often he could be found at an aunt's, uncle's, or grandparent's house helping with odd jobs and was a hard worker. He enjoyed spending time with his cousins and was particularly good with little children. His kind-heartedness extended to animals as well, and he wanted to adopt every stray animal he came across.

He is survived by his parents, three older brothers, Andrew, Sean, and Tim, his grandparents Larry and Louise (Buck) Maloy, his grandmother Barbara Harbold, and many loving aunts, uncles, and cousins all who will dearly miss his happy-go-lucky personality and his contagious laughter.
