Louise Christensen Hatch

1926 ~ 2015

Louise Christensen Hatch passed away on August 22, 2015 at her home in West Jordan, Utah.

She was born in Preston, Idaho on November 27, 1926 to Heber W. Christensen and Florence M. Nuffer, the eldest of three children. Louise grew up in Central Idaho and attended high school in Grace, Idaho. She met her husband, Lorin Barrett Hatch at Idaho State University, and they were married December 26, 1945 in Albuquerque, New Mexico where Lorin was stationed in the Navy. They were later sealed for time and all eternity in the Idaho Falls Temple in April 1947. They had four children, Lewis Alan (Margaret) Hatch, Barry C. (Louise) Hatch, Dianne (Mac) Mayer, and Phyllis Louise (Kyle) Ward.

Louise was an active member of the LDS church where she held several positions, primarily with the Relief Society, Young Women, and Primary. Over the years, she and her husband enjoyed golfing and traveling together, and they recently celebrated their 69th wedding anniversary. Their commitment and love for each other was an inspirational example to their family.

Louise is survived by her husband, Lorin; their three children, Barry (Louise), Dianne (Mac), and Phyllis (Kyle); her two brothers, Reed (Pauline) Christensen and Paul (Winifred) Christensen; 18 grandchildren and 23 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, Heber and Florence; her son, Lewis, and two grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, August 29th at 11am at Willow Grove Ward (8539 South 2200 West, West Jordan, UT 84088). A viewing will be held Friday, August 28th from 6 to 8 pm at Larkin Mortuary (3688 West 12600 South, Riverton, UT 84065) and Saturday from 10 to 10:45am at the church before the funeral. A short graveside service and interment will follow that afternoon in Central, Idaho.
