Our husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather received his angel wings earlyWednesdaymorning surrounded by his family.Larry was born to Peter and Antoinette Slotboom on March 26, 1940.Larry graduated from West High in 1958 and worked for U.D.O.T. for 30 years.Larry enjoyed fishing, camping and outdoors.He spent his retirement years traveling the world.One of his favorite trips was visiting his heritage in Holland.His greatest joy was spending time with his grandchildren, he equally loved watching the tail lights as they drove away.Larry is survived by his wife of 40 years Irene, children; Steve (Diane), Tamara (Terry), Ron (Debra), Gary, Peggy, Joan (Brad), Suzanne (Kirk) and Shawn (Britt), and numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his parents, brother Robert Slotboom, daughter Carrie Graham, grandson Nathan Slotboom and great grandson Dayton Gessell.
A celebration of life will be heldon Monday, June 13, 2016at12:00 noon at the Chateau at the Rose Shop, 1910 East Dimple Dell Road (10600 South) in Sandy. Friends may call an hour prior from11:00-12:00. In lieu of flowers the family is asking that a donation be made in Larry\s honor to the Ronald McDonald house due to his love of his children and grandchildren.
