Karen Rose Kilbridge

1970 ~ 2019

Karen Rose Kilbridge (48) died peacefully at home on June 25, 2019, surrounded by family, following a courageous and determined three-year cancer battle. Karen left an indelible mark on so many lives. Her spirit was infectious, her humor a lift, and her strength and resilience a model for all. Karen was a force, forging her own path in life and showing us how to fight for what you love, for what you need, for who you want to be. Born in Colorado and raised in Hillsborough, CA, she moved to Sandy, UT in 1997 where she raised her four exceptional children. She worked for 20 years at JetBlue in customer care; in her late 30s, returned to school to become a nurse. Over the last decade, Karen nurtured her patients with heart, humility, and insight -- most recently in Intermountain Medical Center's neurological intensive care unit.

Of all her roles, motherhood was her most cherished. She loved her children fiercely: Austin (21), Kendall (19), Savannah (14), and Dylan (12) Angerbauer (Sandy, UT). They were her closest friends and her total joy. Karen is also survived by her loving parents Thomas and Jean Kilbridge (Burlingame, CA); her brothers and sisters-in-law Martin and Shannon Kilbridge (Geneseo, NY), William and Lucy Kilbridge (Burlingame, CA), Phillip Kilbridge and Kelley Karandjeff (San Francisco, CA), and Roger Kilbridge (San Mateo, CA); and seven nieces and nephews who adored her.

Our family is deeply grateful to the many people who supported her through this journey—the capable team at Huntsman Cancer Institute; the Saint John the Baptist community; the numerous dear friends who spent countless hours by her side; neighbors who reached out with food and companionship; her former husband Richard Angerbauer; and especially her four brave children, who were with her every step of the way.

A celebration of Karen\s life will be held on Saturday, July 20, 2019, at 4:00 p.m. at Juan Diego Catholic High School located at 300 East, 11800 South, Draper, Utah 84020.

In lieu of flowers and gifts, we are grateful for contributions to the Karen Kilbridge Memorial Fund to support end-of-life and memorial costs; donations can be made at https://www.gofundme.com/f/karen-kilbridge-memorial-fund.
