Gwendolyn Cameron Lund

1927 ~ 2018

Gwendolyn Cameron Lund, passed away of natural causes on Sunday morning, November 25, 2018, at the age of 91, in her home in Salt Lake City, Utah. Gwen was born May 20, 1927 in Seattle, Washington, to Charles Aaron Cameron and Lucy Ellen Lees.

Gwen grew up in Hollywood, California, as the only child of an only child. How she loved joining and then having a big family. Her mother worked as a night nurse, and would leave Gwen with her grandmother each night when she went to work, until her grandmother passed away when Gwen was 12. After high school, she married David W. Truslow. They would later divorce. On September 4, 1953, she married Howard L. Lund in the Salt Lake Temple.

Our mother was a beautiful, even tempered, and selfless person. She raised her family in California, Salt Lake City, Japan, and finally in Saratoga, California. She was a pleasant and kind person who was a friend to all she met. While in high school, she joined The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She was a tremendous missionary. A number of families in Saratoga were introduced to her church through her.

After Howard retired in 1986, they moved back to his childhood home, Salt Lake City. She missed her beloved California, always questioning why her husband would take her away from California. In 1993, Howard passed away from a sudden heart attack. Gwen has missed him these last 26 years, and we are so excited that they have been reunited, and are together with their beloved daughter KC. Gwen stayed active in her later years, going to water aerobics three times a week and bridge twice a week until the week before her passing.

Gwen is survived by her children David W. Truslow, Jr. (Lucinda), Anthon H. Lund (Donna Evans), Lucinda E. Hyde (Robert), Jennifer Lynn Payne (Jeff), and Cameron R. Lund (Renea), 22 grandchildren and 35 great-grandchildren. Gwen is preceded in death by her husband, Howard L. Lund and her daughter, Kendell C. Colvin.
