Born Oct. 5 1921 in South Royalton, VT, passed away May 19, 2016 in Salt Lake City.
Survived by his wife Beverly Winger Folsom, son Scott (Jan) Folsom, daughters Denise (Michael) Lauer, and Michele (Brian) Anderson. 5 grandchildren (Jeffrey, Karen, Julia, Ellie, and Kevin) and 2 great grandchildren. In addition 4 step-children he came to adore (Guy, Connie, TJ, and Val) and their families.
Gerald served in WW II as co-pilot on a B-24 Liberator bomber and received several decorations including the French Legion of Honor and Dist. Flying Cross.
After the war he returned to Salt Lake and was employed as an accountant with several prominent local businesses. Gerald was a long time member and past president of the Salt Lake County Fish andGame Association, and was founding member and past President of the 44th Bomb Group Veterans Association.
Viewing will be held at Larkin Mortuary (260 East South Temple) Tuesday May 24 from 6-8 pm. Graveside services will be at Utah Veterans Memorial Park (17111 South 1700 West) Wednesday May 25 at 1:00 pm.
