Lloyda Colleen Hubert, 80, passed away suddenly Thursday morning May 5, 2016, in Salt Lake City, Utah. Born on September 4, 1935 in Cortez, Colorado to Nelda Laws and Lloyd Allen Cummings Jr. Colleen graduated from Compton High School in 1953. She married the love of her life, Hans Guenther (Johnnie) Hubert on July 2, 1954 in the Salt Lake Temple. They began their lives together in Fort Sill, Oklahoma. They returned to Salt Lake City in 1955 and settled down for good. Colleen worked for 30 years as a dental assistant in orthodontics for Dr. Clair Hopkins. She loved having her family over for meals and parties over the years. Colleen was always dressed like she was going out on the town. To her, every day was a beauty pageant. She served a mission at the Freiberg temple with her husband from 2006-2007. She referred to that experience as "the crowning event of their lives." The light of Colleen's life was her loving husband Hans, giving him her love, watch care, and Christ-like service for nearly 62 years, especially the last 5 months. Nothing was more important to her than her role as mother to her five children. They filled her life with elation and challenges for over 60 years. One of the joys of her life was spending time with her 18 grandchildren and 22 great grandchildren. She is survived by her loving husband of 62 years Hans Guenther Hubert. She is also survived by her children; Debra (Marc) Hunter, Erich (Mary Ellen) Hubert, Heidi (Randy) Harris, Greg (Tammy) Hubert, 18 grandchildren and 22 great grandchildren.
