Sammer Lee Gardner

1928 ~ 2015

Sammer Lee Gardner, (Vandy and Nana), was called home on July 18, 2015 at the age of 87. Sammer was born to Irene Pride July 4th, 1928 in Lloyd, Florida. In 1949 Sammer married Albert Gardner her husband of 66 years, in Tacoma Washington. She moved to Utah in 1962 and worked as a forklift operator at Tooele Army Depot. Sammer loved fishing, camping and spending time with her family. She will be remembered mostly for her belief and faith in God, marriage, and truth. She was a long time devoted member at New Pilgrim Baptist Church.

Sammer Gardner is survived by her husband/Albert Gardner, daughter Dorothy Jean Henderson, stepson Edward Galloway, grandchildren Renissa Dobbins, Mychal Dobbins, Quinton Dobbins, Shelton Galloway and numerous great grandchildren. She was loved and will be missed by her family and friends. She is preceded in death by her mother, father, 4 sisters, 1 brother, and a stepson.

A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, August 15, 2015 at the New Pilgrim Baptist Church, 5133 Heath Avenue, Salt Lake City. In memory of Sammer, please make donations to the Alzheimer and Diabetes association's.
