Dorothy Sullivan Rutherford, 83, died peacefully in hospice on January 23, 2016 in Sandy, Utah. Born September 13, 1932 in Ossining, New York to Gerard Sullivan and Dorothy Cunningham (Dorey) Sullivan, she spent her childhood in New York and Connecticut. Throughout her adult life, she enjoyed living in Colorado, California, Idaho, Arizona, and Utah; she was an Aspen resident from 1968 - 1978. Ms. Rutherford was an entrepreneur, realtor, secretary to world-renown authors, and a mediator.
She is survived by her children Jerry Rutherford and his wife Margo, Karen Rutherford Dupuis, and James Rutherford and his wife Taunalyn; and grandchildren: Braxten, Shane and his wife Alyssa, Kylan, Kimber, Madison, Hannah, Ethan, Ashlyn, and Cameron. She is also survived by her sister, Gerilee Engh and two nephews. She is predeceased by her parents and granddaughter Tess.
A memorial service will be held Saturday, March 19, 2016 at 2 pm at Larkin Sunset Gardens in Sandy, Utah.
