Dennis John Rowley

1955 ~ 2016

Dennis John Rowley, age 60, of Draper, passed away unexpectedly on June 11, 2016. He was born in Salt Lake City on August 4, 1955 to John Melvin Rowley and Eva Jane (Christensen) Rowley.

Dennis was a lover of horses, he grew up around them and learned to train and ride from a very early age, he competed in riding competitions and was even a rodeo clown once. He enjoyed hiking, mountain biking, cross country skiing, camping, photography and videography but most of all he loved spending time with his family. He loved his heavenly father and was faithful in his constant pursuit of spirituality. He also tirelessly volunteered to help others struggling with addiction.

He worked at KSL Television from 1975 ‚ 1997 starting in the mail room he worked his way to Production Manager for Video West Productions and lastly was an Account Executive. He opened his own video production company Leno in 1997, he then worked as an insurance agent for a few years while keeping his interest in video production. He earned Rookie Agent of the year while working as an insurance agent and led a team nationally to being the number one selling team in the country. He was working as a marketing and video production specialist for an emergency shelter company at the time of his death.

Survivors include his wife of 18 years; Michele Chantrill Rowley, children; Keltie Rowley, Brennen Rowley and Destinee (Kyle) Rhoades, siblings; DeVon (Danny) Fausett, Veldon (Chipita) Rowley and Ross Rowley and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents and a nephew Daniel Rowley.

A funeral service will be held on Friday, June 17, 2016 at 11:00am at Larkin Sunset Gardens, 1950 E. Dimple Dell Rd. (10600 S) in Sandy. A viewing will be held on Thursday from 6:00-8:00pm at the mortuary and on Friday from 10:00-10:45am prior to the service.
