Paul Jeffrey Urry

1956 ~ 2016

Paul passed away suddenly at home on Sunday, September 18, 2016 with the love of his life at his side. Paul was 59 years young.

He was born on October 21, 1956 to Richard and Mary Jean Urry in Salt Lake City, UT. He was preceded in death by his parents.

Paul, or "Rainbow" as his friends knew him, had over 30 years working for UDOT, where he held various positions and enjoyed them all.

Beneath his seemingly gruff demeanor, Paul was a kind and loving man with a heart of gold, willing to do anything for his friends and family. A man of many talents, Paul could fix anything and loved to share his tools and knowhow.

Just a few of his hobbies were cooking mouth-watering meals, taking care of his garden, tending to his beautiful yard, tinkering around the house, and coin collecting; but most of all, spending time with his grandchildren.

Plagued by blindness during the last few years of his life, Paul met medical hardships with courage and patience. We were all touched to have known this gentle bear of a man.

Paul is survived by his wife Kristi, daughters Heather (Jesse) and Brandee (Jared), seven grandchildren (Christian 11, Landon 9, Calvin 7, Maddie 5, Mia 3, Lincoln 1 and baby) as well as his sister Twilla and brothers Mark and Robert.

The family wishes to thank Dr. Allan Crandall and the staff at the Moran Eye Center for their dedication to Paul's eyesight, and for their friendship.

Funeral services will be held Friday, Sept 23rd 2016 at 11:00 am at Kimball Ward (2280 S. 300 E. Salt Lake City). Viewings will be Thursday, Sept 22nd 2016 from 6:00 ‚ 8:00 pm at Larkin Mortuary (260 E. South Temple Salt Lake City) with an additional viewing Friday, Sept 23rd from 9:45-10:45 am at the ward.

In lieu of flowers, the family has established an account for Paul's grandchildren at Mountain America Credit Union under the name of "Pappy's Kids". Please call 801-325-6228 if you would like to make a donation.
