Helen Jean Wayman Howell passed away on March 12, 2017 surrounded by her loving family. She was born Oct. 28, 1927 in Salt Lake City, UT to Raymon Earl and Beth Beatie Wayman.
Jean graduated from Granite High School and the University of Utah. She married Floyd K Howell on Jan. 14, 1949 in the Salt Lake Temple and together they raised 5 children. She was an active member of the LDS Church. Her greatest joy was her children and family history. She served a 3 year mission for the LDS Genealogical Society and traveled extensively to search for genealogy. She had a great talent for sewing and contributed much to Relief Society Bazaars.
She is survived by her children: Shirley Foerster (Gert), Mark Howell (Christine), Mary Cox (David Gosse), Bonnie Jahries (Walt), and Ann Hadfield (Steve). She has 23 grandchildren and 55 great-grandchildren. She is survived by her brother, Ray E. Wayman (Audrene). She was preceded in death by her husband.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, March 18, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. at Larkin Sunset Gardens, 1950 E. Dimple Dell Road (10600 S.) in Sandy with a viewing from 9:45-10:45 a.m. prior to the service. Friends may call Friday evening from 6:00-8:00 p.m. at the Larkin Sunset Gardens. Interment at Holladay Memorial Park.
