1941 ~ 2017

Terry Myron Kraus, born February 1, 1941 in Salt Lake City, UT to Roy Ellois Kraus and Rhoda Selina Wakefield, passed away at home on March 3, 2017 after a long and courageous battle with lung cancer.

On January 20, 1978 in Elko, NV Terry married Judy Albonico Foste and they enjoyed 39 wonderful years together. He had the kindest heart and love for everyone, never speaking ill of anyone. He could fix anything and was always the first to help when others were in need. Terry was an incredible story teller and jokester. He graduated from West High School in 1959 where he played basketball and went to state championships his Senior year. He also had the opportunity to play ball at the University of Utah. He had many great hobbies including golf, bowling, going to Wendover, fishing and spending time at the family cabin. He had a subtle sense of humor and everyone he knew had a special nickname. He cherished his many childhood friends for over 60 years and loved seeing them all at his 75th Birthday celebration. A very special thanks to Freddie Gregovich for his friendship and constant support. Terry was in the 19th Special Forces Group Airborne (SFGA). He retired from the Union Pacific Railroad with over 35 years of service where he received numerous awards. He was the most loving husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, brother and uncle and is leaving an empty place in all of our hearts.

Terry is survived by his wife Judy, children Sheila (Michael) Dixon, Katie (Markus) Acker and Scott Kraus, grandchildren Daniel Nicholas, David, and Amanda Foste, Travis (Mary) Dixon, Audrey (Ryan) Barrett, Nathan, and Emily Dixon, great- granddaughter Lucy Barrett, siblings Janet, Coleen, Gary (Judy), Jean (Nolan) Bellon, and Buzz (Anna) as well as numerous nieces and nephews whom he loved dearly.
