Craig Alma Fletcher

1949 ~ 2019

Craig Alma Fletcher, 69, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, February 13, 2019 at his home in Sandy, Utah with his beloved wife, Heidi Fletcher by his side. He was a devoted husband, brother, father, grandparent, great-grandparent, and friend. He will truly be missed by many.

Craig was born on May 2, 1949 in Salt Lake City, UT to Herbert (Al) and Wanda Fletcher. As a young man his father rooted in him the values of family, community, and hard work. Craig grew up in Rose Park and graduated from West High School in 1967. Shortly after graduation Craig was excited to begin his career. He was hired on at the Union Pacific Railroad as an apprentice at the young age of 18. Eager to move up in his career Craig committed to working hard and earned the title of Foreman General, and after 42 years retired in 2009.

Craig was a strong patriarch of his family and an amazing father to his three sons (Travis, Terry, and Nick). He took pride in being a very involved father and did all he could to teach and guide them. He enjoyed coaching baseball for the Rose Park Country Club and was a motivated coach for West Little League Football.

On any given day you could find Craig on the greens playing a round of golf, camping in the mountains enjoying the fresh air, or maintaining his yard with a nice cut lawn. He took pleasure in the simple rewards of life and was a strong, proud, and loving man both to his family and friends.

Craig is survived by his loving wife, Heidi; siblings Judy (Gary); John (Lori); three sons Travis (Tracey), Terry (Beth) and Nick; step-son Jordan Blanco; 9 grandchildren; 8 great-grandchildren; as well as many nieces, nephews and friends. He is preceded in death by his parents Herbert (Al) and Wanda Fletcher.

The family would like to thank Rocky Mountain Hospice and Larkin Mortuary for being gentle and kind.

A viewing will be held at 11:00 to 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, February 16, 2019 at Larkin Mortuary 260 East South Temple Salt Lake City, Utah. A celebration of life to follow at the Fletcher home.
