Although he fought hard, on January 10, 2017 Bill lost his battle with Lymphoma. Bill was born March 12, 1942 to John Evens Sr. and Ria Kraak Evens in Groningen, Holland. He came to the US in 1954 and later became a US citizen. He retired from UDOT and also had his own window washing business through which he made many good friends. He will be remembered for his video recording, his love of music, his love of family and his sense of humor. He was a member of Good Shepard Lutheran Church. He married Karen Ainsworth Evens in October 1986.
He is survived by his wife; Karen, two sons; Mick (Mellisa) Patterson, Rob (Syd) Evens, four of Karen's children that he loved and raised as his own; Debbie Rutt, Francie (Anthony) Langston, Cindee (Jesse) Park, Kenny Sweat, brother; John (Rina) Evens, seventeen grandchildren, eight great grandchildren who love their "Dutch Pa" and his two beloved cats; Boo Boo and Yogi.
He was preceded in death by his parents and brother Henk Evens.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, January 21, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. at Good Shepard Lutheran Church, 8575 S. 700 E. in Sandy with a visitation 1 hour prior to services.
