Andrew Kay Davis

1975 ~ 2013

Andrew Kay Davis was taken from us on Monday, October 7, 2013 as a result of a tragic accident. He was born December 3, 1975 in Salt Lake City, Utah. He graduated from Davis High School and the University of Utah with a nursing degree, and worked in the nursing field in several capacities. He was a nurse at Salt Lake Regional Hospital and Primary Children's Hospital, and was an agency nurse for other area hospitals and rest homes. Prior to being the house supervisor at Salt Lake Regional he worked for the critical care float pool. He was currently working as a program designer for data analysis at Verisk Healthcare.

Andrew was a member of the LDS church and served a mission to the Netherlands. He was married in the Salt Lake Temple to Deborah Pfister and later divorced.

Andrew was a dedicated runner and loved to challenge himself. He frequently ran marathons, often without training, and loved to run with his many friends and with his children.

Andrew had the biggest heart and always found the good in others. Even in difficult times he only spoke positively of others and never found fault.

He went out of his way to help others and was totally selfless and kind. People couldn't take advantage of him because he gave what he had before you even asked for it. His generosity was unsurpassed.

He loved his children more than anything, and spent priceless time with them. He was a big kid himself and loved to play with them.

His love language was gifting, and he always brought gifts for others to make them happy.

He was a master teacher, and could patiently teach anyone about anything. And he frequently did.

He was constantly learning and ready to share his knowledge. He was a genius in many ways and had a photographic memory.

He was a master problem solver, and could figure out anything with very little effort. For Andrew, the difficult was easy. The impossible just took a little longer.

He had the world's greatest grin that lit up his whole face every time he smiled. His sense of humor was non-stop and a grin followed every tease and tall tale.

He worked quietly and tirelessly behind the scenes and didn't ask for credit. He was our quiet hero.

He saved lives in his work, and was dedicated to his craft. He was also an organ donor and kept giving even in death.

Special thanks to his best friend, Gina Holley, who made him so happy and loved him so much.

He will be greatly missed by his family and all who knew him.

He is survived by his children, Kelsey, Aidan and Morgan, his parents, Michael and Rosalie Davis, and siblings, Adam (Katy), Emily Ford (Kevin), Sara Sandburg (Jason), Christopher (Nikki), and Tyler, and Gina Holley.

A trust fund for his children has been established at the University of Utah Credit Union in his parent's name.

A viewing will be held on Thursday, Oct. 10th from 6:00-8:00 p.m. at Larkin Mortuary (260 East South Temple), and on Friday, Oct. 11th at 10:00 a.m., LDS Canyon View Ward (850 North 300 West) in Farmington prior to funeral services at 11:00 a.m. Interment will be at Wasatch Lawn.
