Danny Hal Petersen

1949 ~ 2017

Danny Hal Petersen passed away peaceful in his home on Saturday, April 15th after a long battle with cancer. Danny was a graduate of Ben Lomond High School and the ROTC program. He also pursued his love of Geology while studying at BYU. He continued with his love of Geology by working at Great Salt Lake Mineral and Mining. Danny married Delores Droubay Woznick on July 20, 1985 in Salt Lake City, Utah. Danny was a faithful member of the LDS church and was valiant to the end. Danny enjoyed singing and was a member of the Mendelson Choir, but one of his greatest joys was volunteering at the Braille Institute in Salt Lake City. Danny had a great love for the outdoors and could be found frequently fishing, camping or traveling.

Danny is survived by 4 brothers: Gordon Petersen, Leonard (Carla) Petersen, Ronald (Linda) Petersen and Alfred Jr. (Michelle) Petersen. He is also survived by Scott Woznick (step-son), Tonia Lewis (step-daughter), 3 grandchildren and many nieces, nephews, grand nieces and grand nephews.

Preceded in death by: Delores Petersen (Wife), Alfred Petersen (Father), Nina Petersen (Mother) and William C. Petersen (Brother).

The family would like to thank all the Doctors, Nurses, and Care Givers that took care of Danny over the years.

A Graveside Service will be held Monday, April 24, 2017 at 1:00 pm at Salt Lake City Cemetery. Friends may call Monday from 11:00 am ‚ 12:30 pm at Larkin Mortuary (260 E. South Temple, SLC). Interment at Salt Lake City Cemetery.
