Terry Frank Hartt

1946 ~ 2019

Terry Frank Hartt, 72, of West Jordan, Utah, died Monday, May 27, 2019, surrounded by his family. Terry was born in Clear Creek on August 3, 1946, the oldest of four children, to Frank and Patsy Hartt.

Terry is survived by his wife, Peggy; children, Sascha,Emberly (Sarra) and Rafher; his mother, Patsy; grandchildren Gabe, Xana, Vianne, Asher, Noah and Daxtin; his brother Gary and sisters Brenda and Sandra

Terry began work right out of high school at the track gang at Kennecott Copper. Terry was drafted on March 3, 1966, to the US Army, completing training as a communications center specialist. He was an expert rifleman, cryptographer and courier, carrying classified materials between Belgium and France.

Terry met his sweetheart, Peggy Long, around a campfire in the mountains while on leave. They married January 13, 1968, at St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church in Kearns before Terry returned to Brussels for the remainder of his service. Terry went back to work at Kennecott Copper in Utah and worked dozer equipment until bidding for electrical work. He became a journeyman electrician and was a proud member of the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers for 40 years before retirement.

Terry and Peggy welcomed their first son, Sascha, in March 1970. They made their home in West Jordan and then their second child, Sarra, was born in August 1974. Their last child, Rafher, was born in February 1976. Terry brought endless summer fun on lakes and camping trips for his children, siblings, nieces and nephews. There was always enough room for everyone. Terry loved the outdoors, travel, being surrounded by family and friends and tinkering with his Austin Healey.

Terry had a magnetic personality, was quick to befriend strangers and never judged anyone. The party started when he arrived, and his infectious laughter filled up the room. He knew how to keep secrets and was always generous with his time and his talents.
