Steve Chavez was born in Durango, Colorado to Mary Garcia and George Chavez. He had 11 brothers and sisters: Bertha, Helen, Lorraine, Inez and Bernadette; Brothers: Freddy, Lloydand Pat. He was preceded in death by his sister Sara and Brothers Michael and Joe.
He had 5 Step Children:Donald Jr. Vialpando (Sharlene) Jake Vialpando, Ruby Martinez (Philip), Linda Ramos (Joaquin) and Elaine Valdez (Duane). It is with Sorrow and Happiness that they deliver Steve to Heaven to be with our heavenly father, his wife Orlinda and all his loved ones.
Steve lived in Montrose, Colorado, where he met Orlinda Vialpando. They both moved to Salt Lake City in 1983. They found happiness together during there 28 years. Steve found a special place in the family's heart, helping Orlinda raise 20 grandchildren and 36 great grandchildren. Steve found joy in his grandchildren; always finding a way to make them laugh.
Steve dedicated many years to Orlinda before she passed in 2008. He was left with his 2 Chihuahua companions: Tiny and Blackie.
A Rosary will be held at Larkin's Mortuary on March 28, 2014 at 7:00 PM.
Church Service will be held Saturday, March 29, 2014at St.Patricks Church 10:00 A.M Located: 1040 west 400 South, Salt Lake City, Utah.
