David Laury Adamson

1934 ~ 2015

David Laury Adamson, 81; Beloved Patriarch, Husband, Father, Grandfather, and Great-Grandfather passed away peacefully at home surrounded by family on December 21, 2015. He rejoins his wife inthe spirit world. Born on April 11th, 1934 in Murray, Utah toArnold George and Estella SmithAdamson, David was the third of five children, growing up in Draper, Utah.

He graduated from Jordan High School in 1952, going on to graduate from Utah State University with degrees in Chemistry and Metallurgy. He worked at Kennecott Copper as a Research Scientist and Industrial Hygienist. He was very successful in his field holding many patents, and shared his great knowledge with everyone around him. He served a mission for the LDS church in NorthernGermany and was a devout member of the LDS church, serving in many positions including Scoutmaster, High Priest group Leader,Stake High Counselor, Counselor in theBishopric.

In June of 1964, he married Myrna Mae Ault in the Logan temple, and cared for her two young boys as his own. They went on to have two girls, Kimberly and Stacey Adamson.

David had a great knowledge and passion for the outdoors, often going backpacking,camping and fishing. Because of this knowledge and passion, he spent a great deal of time as a Scoutmaster. He inspired many young men to get their Eagle Scout, andmany of his scouts went on to become great Scoutmasters as well.

Davidwas an exceptionally kind man beloved by all. He spent his entire life in the service of others. He was always helping someone- giving people rides to appointments, helping with yard work, and sharing the produce he grew in his garden. He was known by some ofthe children in the neighborhood as the \"Pumpkin Man\" because he would always grow enough for everyone in the family and many neighborhood kids.

He is survived by his children; Bryan Adamson (Michelle), Gregory Adamson (Sandy), Kimberly Adamson, and Stacey Singleton (Ronald), his Grandchildren; Lyndsey (Howard), Nathan (Hayley), Jessica (Stephen), Corey (Diana), Amber (Brandon), Clinton (Shelley), Korbin (Emily), Kirstine, Laura, Kaylie, Amanda, Matthew andgreat-grand children; Karlie, Derek, Brayden, Ryder, Harper, Savannah, Maeli, Brynly, Tyler

He was preceded in death by hisparents, sisterLola Marvin, wifeMyrna Adamson, and Great Grandchild Abigail Johnson.

A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, December 30, 2015 at 11:00 am at Cottonwood Stake Center, 1830 E. 6400 S. Salt Lake City. A viewing will be held on Tuesday evening from 6-8pm at Larkin Sunset Gardens, 1950 E. Dimple Dell Rd. (10600 S) in Sandy and on Wednesday at the church from 10-10:45am prior to the service. Interment will follow at Larkin Sunset Gardens.
