Scott Matthew Hart

1988 ~ 2014

Beloved husband, son, brother, uncle, and friend, Scott Matthew Hart passed away Saturday, August 30, 2014, in a tragic kayaking accident in Rexburg, Idaho. Scott was born to Richard Marshall Hart and Joyce Robertson Hart on June 11, 1988, in Phoenix, Arizona. Scott is the youngest of six children. Throughout his childhood, Scott always sought to make people laugh and feel like they mattered. His good natured jokes and happy disposition are centerpieces of many cherished memories among family and friends.

Scott graduated from Thunderbird High School in 2006 where he excelled in theater and guitar. Scott was called to serve a mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Veracruz, Mexico. Scott loved serving with the wonderful people in that country. While there, Scott grew in his love of the Gospel and in his love for his Savior, Jesus Christ. His family is grateful for the love and hospitality his fellow missionaries, church members, and the people of Veracruz showed Scott while he lived there. Scott treasured his unforgettable time in Veracruz.

In the fall of 2011, Scott met the love of his life, Marcia Lundstrom Hart. Scott and Marcia were married for eternity on September 27, 2012, in the Bountiful, Utah, Temple. The two attended BYU-Idaho together where Scott studied exercise physiology and Marcia is studying health science. Both were active in their school and ward communities and were blessed to have wonderful friends and their sweet dog Ki. During their short time together, they shared all of the happiness and joy a celestial marriage promises. From sharing little notes of affection with each other to making sure to capture their happy moments on film, their love for each other was obvious and an example to those around them.

Scott\s humble leadership, Christlike charity, kind-hearted wit, and thoughtful and open friendship displayed his true character as a disciple of Christ. We are grateful for the time that we shared with Scott and look forward to when we can be with him again. The care and love Scott showed as a husband, son, brother, uncle, and friend will surely bring his loved ones comfort and happiness. Scott is greatly respected, loved, and missed by many.
