Ernest Terry Rossiter

1937 ~ 2016

Ernest Terry Rossiter passed away at the age of 79 on July 11, 2016 in Herriman, Utah from complications from Alzheimer\s disease.

Terry was born on January 27, 1937 in Salt Lake City to Ernest Crabtree Rossiter and Venus Robinson Rossiter. He graduated from East High School in 1956 and attended Brigham Young University and the University of Utah.

Terry married his sweetheart Julia Ann Smith on August 2, 1963 in the Salt Lake Temple. Throughout his life, he enjoyed serving as a Salt Lake City police officer, a Salt Lake County Constable, and a bailiff in the Salt Lake County courts. As a young man, he served a mission in Finland, and later in life served with his wife in the Canada Edmonton Mission.

He was preceded in death by his parents and his sister Babette Homolya. He is survived by his wife Julie, daughter Heather (Evan) Rowley and their daughters, Kylee and Taylor, his son Eric (Tamra) Rossiter, and their children Rachel, Becca, Ainsley, Eli, and Gavin.

The family would like to thank the staff at the Beehive Homes in Herriman and also Symbii Home Health and Hospice for their compassionate and loving care.

A viewing will be held Friday, July 15, 2016 from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the South Mountain 8th Ward Chapel located at 1911 East Gray Fox Dr. in Draper (adjacent to the Draper Temple). The funeral service will be held at the same location on Saturday, July 16, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. with a viewing from 9:30 - 10:30 a.m. prior to the services. Interment is at Larkin Sunset Gardens Cemetery.
