Norman Charles Sanford 1926 ‚ 2018. Norman was born November 20, 1926 in Springville,UtahtoJ. Fred Sanford and Lila Sutter Sanford . Norman passed away peacefully on September 18, 2018.
Norman married Ruth McCoy, January 20, 1953. They were married 58 years and are survived by three children, Lou Ann Donahue, Stephen (Brenda) Sanford and Scott (Joy) Sanford, eight grandchildren and twenty great grandchildren. Norman is also survived by his sister, Beverly Fox.
Norman joined the Merchant Marines in World War IIwhere he served for two yearsfollowing high school. During his time of service he sailed to many ports including France, Pearl Harbor and Guam. Norman worked in the transportation industry all his life including owning his own trucking company with his father, Fred.
Norman enjoyed trips to Sun Valley, Lake Tahoe and especially his cabin which he built in Oakley, Utah. He loved spending time with his family at the cabin snowmobiling. One of Norman's lifelong passions was being a HAM radio operator and communicating with other operators around the world where he made many friends. He is preceded in death by his wife Ruth, parents, and sisters Dorothy Sanford and Lillian Kraft.
Immediate family service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, September 21, 2018 at Larkin Sunset Lawn Mortuary 2350 E. 1300 S., Salt Lake City, Utah
