Lucile Golder Ridd returned to her Heavenly Father on December 8, 2016. Insatiably curious and resolute in the pursuit of everything she found interesting, Lucile entered mortality 88 years ago on October 18, 1928, the daughter of Minnie Noordhof and William Henry Golder. On February 14, 1947, she married Leon Ridd in the Salt Lake Temple. Thus began their mortal journey of nearly 70 years together. \Lucia\ loved people and couldalways carry on an interesting conversation. Shewas fiercely proud of her children and dedicated to their betterment. Her admonition to them was, \"Make the world a better place.\" She delighted in their achievements.
She is survived by her husband, Leon; two sisters, Florence (Bill) Wheat and June (J.R.) Thomas, brother Mark (Sandra) Golder; and her children, Sheryl Mather, Jane (Spencer) Jones, Randall (Tamina) Ridd, Kevin (Ann) Ridd, Trent (Tawna) Ridd, Brian (Tracy) Ridd; 30 grandchildren; and 44 great grandchildren. Preceded in death by her parents, brother Norman Golder, son in law Jerry Mather, grandchildren Clete Ridd, and Natalie Ridd and a great grandson Weston Seare.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, December 15 at 12:00 noon at the Olympus 2nd Ward Chapel (3070 E. Nila Way, Holladay Utah).
Friends and family may visit on Wednesday evening from 6:00 to 8:00 PM at Larkin Sunset Lawn Mortuary (2350 E. 1300 S.) and at the church from 10:30 until 11:30 AM prior to the services on Thursday. Interment in the Holladay Memorial cemetery.
