She was raised in Salt Lake City, graduated from East High School and Stevens Henager Business College. Lucille was employed by the Union Pacific Railroad as a Secretary/Stenographer for 28 Years. It was at the railroad that she met the love of her life, John Harold Johnson, in 1942. They dated for a short time prior to his leaving for Europe during World War II. She kept the romance alive by writing to him for the next 3 years and when he returned at the end of the war, they began seriously dating. They were married in the Salt Lake Temple on October 10, 1946, and spent 66 wonderful years working closely together in every aspect of their lives. They were blessed with 4 children, 13 grandchildren and 34 great grandchildren.

Lucille was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints serving faithfully in her callings. She was secretary to 3 Stake Presidents, served in the Primary for many years and enjoyed serving with her husband in the Extraction Program. Lucille touched many lives and never sought recognition. She just quietly went about lifting and helping others.

Lucille is preceded in death by her parents, husband John Harold Johnson and grandson Tyler Johnson.

She is survived by her children, Ronald (Suzanne), Donald (Dale), Glenn (Ellen), Marilyn (Steve) Mortensen, grandchildren and great grandchildren.
