Edna Wiberg Pugsley Wolfgramm

1917 ~ 2016

Our loving, kind-hearted mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and sister; Edna Wiberg Pugsley Wolfgramm, 98, passed away peacefully at her home surrounded by her family on April 7th 2016. Edna was born August 4th 1917 in Salt Lake City to Hattie Wilhelmina Wiberg and Lester Druce Pugsley. Her childhood home was located in Salt Lake City on a street named after her pioneer ancestors: Pugsley Street. Edna was very proud of her pioneer heritage and was an active member of the Daughters of Utah Pioneers for over 60 years. Edna graduated from West High School in 1933. She continued her education and received a Bachelor of Secondary Education degree from the University of Utah in 1937. Edna was always a proponent of education and encouraged her family to excel in all they did. After graduation Edna worked for the Bureau of Mines. After 3 years of work Edna chose to serve a mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She served in the Texas-Louisiana mission for 18 months. Following her mission Edna married her eternal companion, Rudolph Herbert Wolfgramm. They were married in the Salt Lake Temple on February 28th, 1946. After 6 months of marriage Edna and Rudy they chose to serve a mission for the LDS church. They were fortunate to serve in the Tongan Islands, Rudy's homeland. She embraced the Tongan culture and passed that love onto her family. Rudy and Edna eventually purchased a home in the Avenues of Salt Lake City. Edna resided in that home for over 66 years. During that time their home was always full of children and visiting relatives. Their doors were opened to scores of people in need. Edna was the type of person who never judged others; she simply took care of people and showed them compassion. After 28 years of marriage Rudy passed away. 15 years later Edna married Clarence Burningham, who died 7 years later.

Edna was a faithful member of the LDS church for her entire life. Her testimony of the LDS church was one of her most treasured possessions. During her 98 years she had the opportunity to serve in many capacities within the church. She had a special love for family history work. Edna took time to help chronicle the lives of several relatives. Edna worked as an extraction worker in her later years and helped to translate records to aid in genealogical work. Edna had a talent for genealogy. Edna also had a talent for sewing. She was an expert seamstress. She shared her talent with others and loved to teach her family how to sew. She was a proud member of the Daughters of the Utah Pioneers for over 60 years.

Edna's greatest legacy was her family. She loved and cared about each member of this large family. Edna is preceded in death by her husband Rudy, parents: Hattie and Lester Pugsley, sibling: baby Pugsley, her grandsons: Christopher Wolfgramm and James "Robbie" Adams and great-grandchildren: Hannah Aubrey and Samuel Wolfgramm. She leaves behind 7 children: Paul (Doris) Wolfgramm, John (Cyd) Wolfgramm, David (Sue) Wolfgramm, Karen (Dan) Adams, Richard (Sherrie) Wolfgramm, Fred (Liz) Wolfgramm, and Sheryl (Preston) Schulthies, 32 Grandchildren, 79 Great-Grandchildren, her beloved sister: Anna "Patsy" Clark, and brother: Richard Pugsley.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday April 12, 2016 at 11 am. A viewing will be held Monday, April 11, 2016, 6-8 pm and 1 hour prior to funeral services, at the Olympus Hills Ward located at 3862 East Oakview Dr. (4275 South) Salt Lake City, Utah. Interment at Salt Lake City Cemetery.
