Ruth Gentry Pecharich

1923 ~ 2017

Our stunning Ruth Gentry Pecharich, 93, passed away peacefully surrounded by family, love and light at home on May 6, 2017 in Salt Lake City, Utah. Ruth came into and left this world with dignity; she wouldn't have it any other way. Ruth was born in Scofield, Utah on May 30, 1923 as the first child to Harold and Melinda Gentry. During her childhood, Ruth gained a stepfather, Frank Auberger, whom she loved greatly.

On August 14, 1946, Ruth married the one and only love of her life, Tony Pecharich. Together, they had two beautiful and loving daughters, Lori and Tamara, their proudest life accomplishments. Their daughters, grandchildren, great grandchildren, family and friends were their whole world and the meaning of life to them.

Ruth was elegant, classy, tenacious, feisty, had movie-star good looks, and at times, cursed like a sailor- much to her grandchildren's delight and laughter. Ruth possessed an unparalleled inner strength, emitted femininity and charisma where ever she went, and was loyal to her core. Always kind, warm and gregarious, she could make anyone\s day by making them feel loved and important; there were no strangers, just friends she hadn't met yet. Ruth was always a character and maintained a youthful, mischievous sense of humor and outlook on life until the very end.Ruth survived polio as a child and had many other ailments throughout her life, but courageously battled on to ensure her loved ones were taken care of and looked after. If nothing else, Ruth was a caregiver and gave selflessly to all during the entirety of her life. She was the epitome of strength, the definition of a woman, and the matriarch of her family. She was open-minded, non-discriminating and gave freely of her love to all walks of life. Ruth's humanity and unconditional love for all will always serve as a harbinger of hope for many generations to come.

Ruth is survived by: daughters Lori (John) Bushman and Tamara (Kraig) Raines; grandchildren Cody (Amber) McCallister, JT (Trina) Bushman, Bronson and Gentry Bradshaw and Autumn Bushman; great grandchildren Abby (Vince) and Hope McCallister, Jaydan and Cole Bushman; brothers-in law, Bob (Nancy) and Bill (Karen) Pecharich; and many beloved family members and friends.
