Brenda Jean Yorgason Riet LeCheminant

1949 ~ 2016

Brenda Jean Yorgason Riet LeCheminant returned to her home in heaven surrounded by many loved ones on Sunday, May 22nd. Brenda was born on June 30, 1949 in Salt Lake City to Hyrum ValGene and Agnes B. Yorgason. She was diagnosed with ALS, \"Lou Gehrig\s\" in the fall of 2015. She married Heber John Riet on January 6, 1981, who preceded her in death on September 15, 1990. She was sealed to John one year and one month after his death. Brenda married Eli Stanford LeCheminant August 18, 1995. She is survived by her husband, Stan, a brother, Alan (Jannette) Yorgason, a sister, Carol (Golden) Paxton, many adoring nieces and nephews and several adopted grandchildren.

When Brenda\s mother passed away in 2000, she promised her she would keep the family together. She has kept that promise with many memorable parties and holiday traditions and has always included everyone. She was a positive and inspiring influence on over 1,000 children as she taught school for Granite District for 34 years. Years later, whenever she would run into a former student, they always remembered her. She earned a B.A., Masters and Ph.D. all from the University of Utah. She served faithfully in many callings for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, including 5 years as Primary President and 7 years with her party-loving Stanny as Activity Committee chairpersons. Brenda traveled extensively and had a rich, full life. She loved all people and was kind and generous at all times.

A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, June 1st, 2016 at 1pm with a viewing from 11:30 AM ‚ 12:45 PM at the Ensign 1st Ward, 135 A Street, SLC UT. A viewing will also be held Tuesday, May 31st from 6:00 ‚ 8:00 PM at Larkin Mortuary, 260 E. South Temple, SLC. Interment at the Salt Lake City Cemetery.

The family wishes to thank all who blessed her life and helped her from Summit Home Care and Hospice. She had some other angel helpers, including Noma Taufa and Nisi. The family suggests that in lieu of flowers, anyone who wishes may donate to: Granite Education Fund atwww.granitekids.org.
