Mary E. (Liz) Keller

1932 ~ 2019

Liz Keller, age 87, passed away on July 12, 2019. She was born June 11, 1932 in Coffeeville, Kansas but really grew up in Salt Lake City. She attended the University of Utah and received her B.A. in English. While attending the U of U, she was associated with the Pi Beta Phi Sorority where she developed lifelong friendships. After graduating from college, Liz became a stewardess with United Airlines. This career was short lived, ending because of her marriage to Lyle H. Keller on December 20th, 1954 in Salt Lake City, Utah.

Liz and Lyle had four sons; Liz was a devoted mother and wife. Lyle\s Naval obligation and career took her to Georgia, California, Arizona and a twenty-year stint in Lincolnshire, Illinois. After Lyle\s retirement, they returned to their beloved Salt Lake City where they were reunited with Lyle\s mother, Liz\s mother and long-time friends.

As the kids grew up, Liz became more involved with the following organizations: Junior League, Clipped Wings, P.E.O., and the Pi Beta Phi alumna association. She and Lyle also joined the Salt Lake Country Club and were long time members. She loved to walk, golf, attend the symphony, play bridge and entertain. She was thrilled to travel whether it was near or far. Liz belonged to the Cathedral Church of St. Mark from a young age and her faith was unwavering; she so enjoyed her participation in the altar and flower guilds.

Liz developed friendships wherever she was; they were always her \"dear friends,\" and she held onto them for life. Her familial relationships were also cherished. Since Liz\s passing was unexpected and sudden, we believe she would want you to know how much she appreciated the friendships/relationships she had with each and every one of you.

Her husband, mother, and father precede her in death. Liz is survived by her sons Gregory (Katie), Steven, David (Carey) and Robert, her grandson Brian and sister Sharon Kelly (Alex).
