Clifford Dawson Dickinson

1947 ~ 2017

Clifford Dawson Dickinson, age 69, passed away February 9, 2017 in Sandy, Utah. He was born July 18, 1947 in Panguitch, Utah, to John D. and Alma Bridges Dickinson.

Clifford was an exceptionally hard-working man who worked in mines and oil fields, built highways, and worked on countless major construction projects. He could operate almost any type of heavy equipment and is a retired member of the Operating Engineers Local Union No. 3. He also trained race horses, owned a farm and ranch, managed a restaurant, worked in a candy factory, and even was a deputy sheriff. Clifford enjoyed sharing his love for music and dancing, hunting, fishing, camping, and riding ATVs with his family, friends, and unprepared neighbors. Above all, Clifford loved his family without condition, would give the shirt off his back to a stranger, and brought life and humor to even the most difficult situations.

Clifford came from a large family with nine siblings. Lennis Helquist, Gerald Dickinson, Roger Dickinson, and Almon "Sam" Dickinson preceded him in death. His surviving siblings are Sherry Lewis, Pearl and Phil Rogers, Robert "Bob" and Shyanne Dickinson, Lloyd and Leslie Dickinson, and Ricky Dickinson.

Clifford's biological children are Cliffard Dickinson Jr., Heath and Yanitza Dickinson, Zachery and Jess Dickinson, Rusty Dickinson (deceased), and Aaron Dickinson (deceased).

Clifford's step-children and god-child are Lisa Cowley, Jessica Dickinson, Jamie Brewis, Tara Brewis, and Tyler Neve.

Clifford's grandchildren and step-grandchildren are Katherine and Corbin Dickinson; Daymien, Shyann, and Rusty Lynn Dickinson; Nikki and Shelby Evans; Brooklyn, Mitchell, and Will Bagley; Matt and Ashlee Dunstan; and Nahara and Neylani De Pedro.

We want to specially recognize Faye Brewis Dickinson. Though they are no longer married, she continued to have a strong and beautiful relationship with Clifford and remained at his side to the very end.

The viewing will be held on Wednesday, February 15, 2017, from 1-2pm and the service celebrating Clifford's life will begin at 2pm at Larkin Sunset Garden Mortuary, 1950 E.
