Our beloved mother, grandmother and friend, Darlene Morley Thorne, passed away on August 5, 2015 after a brief illness. Darlene was born in Bingham Canyon in 1929 to C.A. (Spud) and Frances Ball Morley. She loved Bingham Canyon and graduated from Bingham High School and later from LDS Business College. She married Jack A. Thorne in 1950. She worked at the State Capitol, Liberty School and was an avid Jazz fan. Darlene enjoyed the last 15 years living at Riley Court where she made many friends.
She is survived by her son Gary (Marcy) Thorne; three grandchildren, Eric (Tori) Thorne, Emily (Nathan) King and John (Cami) Thorne; and nine great-grandchildren. She is also survived by two sisters-in-law, Mary (Jack) Steadman and Ruth LaBar, and many nieces and nephews. She preceded in death by her husband, parents, and sister Maurine Floss.
A viewing will be held at Larkin Sunset Gardens Mortuary, 1950 East Dimple Dell Road (10600 South), Sandy, on Saturday, August 8, 2015 at 8:30 a.m. A short service will follow at 11:00. Interment at Larkin Sunset Gardens.
