Ashley Argyle, PhD was born November 29, 1979 and passed away November 18, 2014. She was a graduate from Park City High School and went on to get a Bachelors Degree from Westminster, then obtained her Masters Degree from the University of Alaska Fairbanks, and then earned her PhD in English Literature from the University of Denver in 2011.
She was a loving daughter, and a wonderful sister with a sunny smile and a dry sense of humor. She always had a tender spot in her heart for animals, adopting Sam from a shelter in Alaska, and fostering Beth, later to adopt her as well. She was a teacher at Salt Lake Community College. Her passion in life was books and education. She was a confessed bibliophile who loved reading, merely being surrounded by books made her happy. As Tolkien wrote in his poem about Aragon, "Not all those who wonder are lost." She is survived by her parents; Gary, Sharon, her brother; Troy, her sister; Rachelle (Andy), her nieces; Amber, Megan, Morgan, Lauren, Alexis, and Jasmine, her grandmother; Laura, and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, November 22 at Larkin Sunset Gardens, 1950 East Dimple Dell Road (10600 South), at 11:00 a.m. There will be a viewing Friday from 6-8 and Saturday 9:30-10:30 at the same location.
